Wheat-Pea-Star, Washington/USA 1979 Natron,Tansania 1984
Grand Prismatic Spring, Yellow stone park, 1982
The aerial work of Gerster interests me because it's a different way of seeing the world that I have never seen before. He makes the colors vibrant so they pop at you and grab your attention.
Charles Marville (1800's)
Rue de Constantine 1865 rue de la Ferronnerie, Paris 1865
Marville took many photos down the streets of Paris. I like how in most of his images, you can see far down a street or alley. He photographed things how they were and captured what things were exactly like in the 1800's.
Richard Avedon (1900-1950ish+)
Richard Avedon (1900-1950ish+)
Cole Porter, composer, 1950 Madwoman of Chaillot, 1949
Porter was able to capture portraits of people with true emotion on their faces instead of the typical poses of famous people. His photos are unique and show another side of the subject.
Martin Schoeller (2001-present)
paul rudd
Will Ferrell
Sean Combs (Puff Daddy/P. Diddy/Diddy/Diddy Dirty Money)
Schoeller creates funny scenes with celebrities through props, objects, and backgrounds. He also does very good close-up portraits of celebrities and female body builders.
Jason Langer (1991-2000)
subway station 1996 singer 1994
Langer uses shadows and blur to make his photos stand out. The black and white allows the shadow to have more of an effect on the image and in my opinion makes great photos.
